Instructional design is so much more than pulling together a presentation and calling it training. In fact, if an Instructional Designer makes their job look easy, they are doing it well! There are several adult learning methodologies that are tied to instructional design. One that is widely adopted is the ADDIE model.
There is a lot of groundwork to complete prior to design starting on a training project. There are a lot of factors that determine what the end result or deliverable will be to meet the needs of the business or stakeholders.
The first few steps in the ADDIE process are critical to ensure you are on track. I have included samples of these parts of the puzzle as well as a project management tool for a large-scale project.
You are provided with several work samples. To best navigate the samples, there are a few quick viewing options.
As the sample is currently displayed on your screen:
Use your mouse to scroll up or down within the sample.
Use the "+" to enlarge or "-" to decrease the view of the sample provided next to the magnifier glass.
Click on the pop-out button in top, right corner to a full-screen version. This will open the sample in a new window that you will have to close to get back to the site. Since the samples were not created within google apps, any graphics may not be displayed properly.
Everything starts with a great design plan.
This is done to identify the skills, knowledge, and behavior gaps that need to be addressed to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.
Managing multi-layers of the process from start to finish.
